The League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade, a nonpartisan organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Besides our local chapter, the League also works at the state and national levels to generate democratic conversation among members, educate the general public and policy makers on pressing issues, and take concerted action to bring about social change.

The League of Women Voters is one of the most trusted not-for-profit organizations in the United States. As such, League chapters like LWV Miami-Dade are often called upon to convene community forums and host candidate debates.

Taking action

The League accomplishes its mission by registering voters, holding debates and public forums, advocating for positions to influence public policy, and providing resources to help inform voters. In Miami-Dade, we also provide members with networking and career development opportunities.
